Al-Tamimi, who was born in Mecca, is a writer and researcher specializing in biographical criticism.
Al-Tamimi graduated from the Faculty of Arts in Dammam. She continued her education and received a master's degree in literature and criticism from Arabic Language and Literature Department at the Faculty of Arts in Riyadh, King Saud University.
Al-Tamimi received her doctorate from King Saud University on her thesis "Audio and Visual Biographies.” The thesis was a combination between art and mass communication studies where she focused on television biography.
She is currently an assistant professor at Arabic Language Department, Faculty of Arts, King Saud University. Previously, she worked at the Arabic Language Department, Faculty of Arts, Dammam University. She established the Academic Guidance Unit at the Faculty of Arts and worked as its rapporteur.
Among her renowned works are: Women's Biography in Contemporary Arabic Literature, Narrative in Medieval Literature, Television Biography, Interactive Digital Biographies: Saudi Examples, TV Interview Biography: The Saudi Experience.
